193 Entries confirmed for 2025 Ekka

Be there as history takes shape—experience the breed’s biggest Queensland showcase first-hand

The Speckle Park breed is set to make a powerful statement at the 2025 Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), with an impressive 193 entries officially received for this year’s Feature Breed showcase. Representing 47 exhibitors from across the country, this gathering will mark the second-largest Speckle Park line-up ever seen worldwide—just shy of the 228-head record set at the 2023 Sydney Royal.

On Friday 8 August, all eyes will be on the main arena as some of Australia’s top Speckle Park cattle are judged side-by-side—a rare opportunity to witness elite genetics in action and benchmark the breed’s best. For breeders, commercial producers and enthusiasts alike, it’s also a chance to connect with community, swap insights, and celebrate the breed’s progress together.

Judging for stud beef cattle is scheduled across 8–9 August, with Speckle Park feature classes pencilled in for the Friday session. Gates normally open at 7 am and rings kick off from about 8 am (final times will be confirmed in the official RNA schedule), so plan to arrive early to secure a vantage point. All Speckle Park exhibits—alongside more than 1,100 head of other breeds—will be stabled on the ground floor of the Large Animal Pavilion, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to view stock up close between classes. Keep an eye on the Ekka Stud Beef competition page for the full class order, exhibitor list and ticketing details as they are released closer to showtime.

Round out the weekend by joining fellow breeders and supporters at Ekka After Dark – Speckle Edition on Saturday 9 August, 6.30 pm, in the Front Plaza Function Room of the iconic Breakfast Creek Hotel.

Tickets are $75 pp and include roving canapés followed by a two-course alternate-drop dinner.

Seating is limited, so book early to secure your place at this relaxed evening of good food, conversation and Speckle Park camaraderie.
