Building Futures with Speckle Park
In a powerful show of community, resilience and shared purpose, Gotcha Park Speckle Park Stud and BackTrack Youth Works have forged a partnership that’s transforming lives — both human and bovine.
BackTrack is an award-winning not-for-profit based in Armidale, dedicated to helping young people doing it tough find their place — by reconnecting them with education, training, and real-world skills through hands-on work and community support.
A few years ago, Speckle Park genetics quietly found a home at BackTrack’s training farm, Cubba Cubbah, through the support of Gotcha Park. What began as a modest introduction has since grown into something far more meaningful. Earlier this year, a special herd of breeding females from Gotcha Park was relocated to Armidale — not just to weather a tough season, but to become part of a longterm legacy. For the young people at BackTrack, their arrival became a powerful symbol of pride, purpose and possibility.
“This herd now means more to us than we ever imagined,” one participant shared, reflecting the impact these cattle have already made.
This is Speckle Park at its best: thriving through challenge, empowering the next generation, and building a stronger future for Australian agriculture. Watch the BackTrack story.
