Back-to-back Gold for SpeckleBeef Sirloin and Scotch
A big congratulations to Neat Meat, the SpeckleBeef team and the farmers behind the program, with Neat Meat’s SpeckleBeef Sirloin and SpeckleBeef Scotch taking out Gold again at the New Zealand Food Producer Awards.
The awards recognise excellence across the food and beverage sector, with entries judged on criteria including aroma, visual appearance, flavour, consistency, quality, sustainability, brand story and packaging.
For SpeckleBeef, this result is more than a medal. It reflects the work happening right through the supply chain, from cattle selection and finishing through to grading, handling, butchery and the final eating experience.
The SpeckleBeef program, led by Neat Meat in New Zealand, is built around strong relationships with farmers producing Speckle Park cattle and cattle with Speckle Park infused genetics.
Genetics play a key role, with outcomes measured, not assumed. The program focuses on consistent, premium beef, with farmers rewarded for traits including marbling.
The judges’ comments on the Scotch captured the eating quality beautifully:
“Tender and juicy and it cut like butter. Beautifully sweet fat and great mouthfeel.”
For producers, that kind of feedback matters. It speaks to the value of good cattle, careful management, strong genetics and a clear market pathway for beef that delivers on the plate.
Speckle Park cattle have continued to build recognition for their role in producing beef with tenderness, flavour, marbling and consistency. The back-to-back Gold result for SpeckleBeef Sirloin and Scotch adds further weight to that story and highlights what can be achieved when farmers, processors and brand partners work toward the same quality outcome.
Congratulations again to Neat Meat, the SpeckleBeef team and the farmers helping bring this award-winning beef story to life.
