Benchmarking Speckle Park: key carcase competitions for 2026–2027

Speckle Park International has prepared a new Carcase Competitions Update (PDF) to help members and commercial producers plan ahead for key carcase and feedlot competitions across 2026 and 2027.

Carcase and feedlot competitions are an important opportunity to benchmark Speckle Park performance in a commercial setting. They provide independent, commercially measured feedback on traits such as lean meat yield, fat depth and MSA Index scores, giving producers data that can support breeding decisions, sire selection, bull sale marketing and commercial client conversations.

For the breed more broadly, consistent participation across multiple competitions helps build a stronger, evidence-based picture of Speckle Park performance across regions, markets and production systems. Individual results are valuable, but the collective record is what helps strengthen industry credibility over time.

The update includes competition details relevant to Speckle Park members, including the:

  • BEEF2027 AMPC National Beef Carcase Competition,

  • The Land Beef Spectacular,

  • Callide Dawson Carcase Competition,

  • Bindaree Food Group + Colin Say & Co Feedlot Trial,

  • CQ Carcase Competition,

  • Southern Grassfed Carcase Classic,

  • Circular Head Carcase Competition,

  • Lardner Park Steer Trial and

  • Royal Show opportunities across Australia.

Members are encouraged to review the update, consider which competitions may suit their cattle and make early contact with competition organisers or processors where required.

Please note that competition details may change. Members should always confirm current entry requirements, dates, processor specifications and nomination details directly with the relevant competition organiser before entering.
